Todays raid started with one tank less than we needed for
Thorim HM. Not too worried we chose to challenge IC HM again, which we happily killed on our second attempt. Hmm... still no more tanks... well lets go to Hodir HM, who also died on our second attempt. Still no tank?! Hmm... Luckily Rutter, our resident Ret. Paladin, agreed to take up the challenge and did exceptionally well in what is his offspec role.
Our
Thorim HM tactics have changed drastically from the easymode version, both in P1 and P2. On perhaps the second attempt we got into P2 within the timer, although died shortly after due to sustaining a lot of raid damage. Encouraged by the fast start we tweaked our strategy a little each attempt, and made one large P2 positioning change, humorously role-played by the raid using a circle somewhere along Auriaya's long walking area as a template. These changes drastically reduced raid damage and gave us the survival ability to take it to Thorim for a kill attempt and way before the end of the raid night! A little messy in the final few percent, but an easily repeatable Hardmode kill.
A really great raid with barely any wipes and three Hardmodes down. We have Vezax HM and maybe a look at Yogg1or2 lined up for Tuesday. If our performance is similar to tonight's raid I am sure we can kill Vezax HM!
