On the first raid of the rest (Weds) we wiped hard all night on FL with four towers up. We got very close on many occasions, often getting FL to around 30million HP or below (about 10% HP), but we kept coming up short. Early vehicle deaths were our main problem really. Still, the tactics were set and working consistently.
Tonight (Thursday) we returned to FL determined to take him apart, we wouldn't just easymode him to progress through the rest of the instance. The Leviathan was going to die on his hardest mode and hopefully suffer a lot in the process. With a night of reflection behind us and a couple of small tactical changes we saw every attempt get us to that dreaded 10%, but not quite any further. But eventually everything went right on one attempt and we got ourselves a very pleasing kill.
We also left ourselves about an hour and a half to take a look at XT-002, who we were also determined to destroy on his Hardmode. We brought a newish tactic to the raid which was working for the most part, but caused problems if a Light Bomb happened just before a Tantrum. With some modifications to solve that issue we reduced the raid damage which left us with a more stable platform to work with and we were shortly awarded with a convincing Hardmode XT kill. Yey!
As for the rest of the week, well we're not sure. There will certainly be some time spent toying with another hardmode, but it all depends on how fast we clear the rest of Ulduar on Sunday.
There will be more Hardmode success to come that is for sure!
