Well we finished the first week on another high note.
First we went back to Kologarn who we had started learning at the end of the last raid. Quite an interesting fight when you first try it, the raid damage seems stupidly huge. With a little different positioning for the raid we had a much more stable tactic ready to deal with him. But then....! Maybe our third attempt or 4th... my first real one anyway as I died spectacularly at the start of the first couple at least, those eyebeams, my framerate etc; but I digress! Then, oh yes, then, it was as if Kologarn knew his fate was bleak and short, and he vanished before our very eyes, leaving the room, coming back, leaving the instance, coming back, nothing would bring him out of hiding. Our only option was to change targets to Ignis, our destroyer on the first raid night.
This time however, it was Ignis who would be destroyed, on only the second attempt of the night. It seems the Ulduar10s we had run had provided enough research and practice to get this tactic sorted out nicely.
Back to Kologarn and he is still hiding :( So we go and do a quick Maly25 kill to let the instance soft-reset after 30mins.
We try Kologarn for the third time and he has finally come back. Our first attempt prove his suspicions right when he dies straight off.
We spent an hour on Auriaya after that and admittedly it got the better of us. Next raid we will be much better prepared and I'm sure we will have far superior tactics and there will be many more boss kills to come!
